I would use validation for this purpose, usually the
message will be explicit enough that you'll know what the problem is. But, in
general, there is no easy way to find out what elements are not accessible via a
typed getter, if that is a fair restatement. The values do get passed along, in
the sense that if you were to save that document back out, "PORequired" would
still be there.

Is there anyway to report any XML received that is not part of the XSD? For example I received an element named “PORequired”. The element I was expecting was PoRequired. XML Beans did not error out and the value did not get passed along.
I’m sure there as got to be a solution to this.
