thank you for your reply..,but I have already solved this problem 
The solution was basically to use the "substitute" method ... :)

tempEdge.getCondition().substitute(
           TimeoutConditionDocument.type.getDocumentElementName(), 
           TimeoutConditionDocument.TimeoutCondition.type);
