Jason,
I think when the code which uses "1.4" and "1.5" was written,
there was no 1.6 yet, and I took a quick look but didn't see
any check on the value of the javasource parameter, so maybe
you can try setting javasource to 1.6 in and see if the ant
task succeeds.

If you have java 1.5 on your build path and build your project using
javasource=1.5, then yes, you can run that code in java 6. My project
is using java 1.6 in the build path which breaks the ant task.

I guess I could use 1.6 and in eclipse specify 1.5 compatibility...but
that seems "wrong"

Make sense?

Jason

Jason,
I believe that if you specify 1.5, the generated source
can be used with 1.6. Please try it and see.

Regarding xmlbeans ant task...

"Javasource - Generate java source compatible with the given version.
Currently only "1.4" and "1.5" are supported."

Any movement towards supporting 1.6 given java 5 is EOL
