I got the same problem. I have added the existing account to become root. But after installed Zookeeper following the manual instructions. When I check JPS the only I got show on the screen was: xxxx Jps.
when used: sudo jps -lm. Can see the QuorumPeerMain. How to solve that problem. It took me 2 days. Anyone, please.
