usr/share/info/dir is a symlink delivered as part of the texinfo
package. You do not need to deliver that path.

but I don't see anything in those .p5m files that deliver
usr/share/info/dir as a link. Can you point me to an

the answer is yes, and it's handled automatically.

in my wdiff.p5m files in mogrified into the action:

facet.doc.info=true
in my final package manifest.

I'm guessing I've got something bogus in my wdiff.p5m files, but it's
hard to tell what. It's confusing because the only file under that
directory
with texinfo in the name is:
$ find . -name "*texinfo*"
./wdiff-0.6.5/build-aux/texinfo.tex
Appropriate whacks with the clue stick would be very much appreciated.
