Note that Laszlo Peter let me know this issue is likely already fixed in build 8. He said:
That looks like CR 7126712 xsltproc dies in xmlXPathReleaseObject with new patches Fix integrated in s11u1_08. Brian On 01/25/12 02:48 PM, Brian Cameron wrote:
Isn't xsltproc delivered by userland? Ever since I updated to S11U1 x86 (assembled 27 December 2011), I have been noticing various modules are failing to build when processing XML. I notice these problems when trying to build the modules in the gnome-2-30-s11update branch, if that matters. I do not remember seeing this problem on older S11U1 builds. For example, if I try to build poppler (used by evince), it fails when building the GTK docs when calling this program: /usr/bin/xsltproc --nonet --xinclude --stringparam gtkdoc.bookname pop You can see the attached core pdf-viewer-core.txt file to see the stack trace. I see the same problem when building gdm. It fails in the gdm/docs directory, also when calling xsltproc and generates a core file with the same stacktrace. I suspect that this problem is causing any module that builds gtk-docs to fail (e.g. any module that installs files to /usr/share/gtk-doc/html). You probably can workaround this by just not building the gtk-docs by calling configure with --disable-gtk-docs, but that is clearly just a workaround. I'd think you should be able to build GTK docs on Solaris 11. Does anybody know what this problem is, or why xsltproc seems to be having problems? Is anybody else seeing these sorts of problems?
