When you say add the resources myself do you mean adding the _javascript_ files using the script tag?

Well, you can work around the issues.

just add the resources yourself! this is not ideal, but better than nothing.

I don't know of any of the MyFaces committers being involved with
portals, so I really don't know about a timetable, sorry.
