We have to be clear about what distro of activemq you're talking about. ActiveMQ 5.x community version isn't shipped with Karaf or an OSGI container, which is what you're asking about it seems.
ActiveMQ 5.9 comes (community tarball) comes with hawt.io If you install via plain-jane karaf, then I'm not sure... looks like maybe not out of the box.. is that what you're trying to do? or perhaps JBoss A-MQ?
