Thanks for your reply. My config is already using the depends-on and the <camelContext> is defined before the <broker> element.
The only difference I see is the missing <shutdownHooks> within the <broker> element. But without that entry the CamelContext would not shutdown at all. As we are using a standalone ActiveMQ the useShutdownHook="false" attribute for <broker> element does not make sense.
