Hi Walter, About the destination, you can define specific parameters in activemq.xml: that's the policy entries. The policy entry defines the parameters to some destinations (queues or topics). The "wildcard" < mean "any" destination. For instance, memory limit allows you to define the max size of a destination. You can find more details here:
https://activemq.apache.org/per-destination-policies About Channel, correct me if I'm wrong, but in WebSphere MQ there are two kind of channels: - the channel between two queues managers, so basically communication between two brokers: that's possible in ActiveMQ using a network of brokers. Several brokers can forward messages from a broker to another in a network of brokers. - the channel between client and broker, in ActiveMQ this is the transport connectors. ActiveMQ supports several transport connectors (JMS/TCP/OpenWire, WS, HTTP, STOMP, ...) and the client "lib" use a connector. I hope it helps. If you need more details, please let me know.
