This is expected since ActiveMQ Artemis now targets Java 11+ since the release of 2.20.0. This fact is noted in a few places:
- the original vote email for the release on the dev mailing list - the release announcement on the users mailing list - the release notes for 2.20.0 [3] - a discussion thread [4] was also created on the users mailing list to get feedback from users who still need Java 8 support I recommend you upgrade ASAP.
