Anyway I changed it and the connection now stays open long enough. I suggest to clarify on http://archiveopteryx.org/conf/memory-limit that memory-limit does not only switch towards conserving/freeing RAM but can run in serious trouble when too low. Current text: Archiveopteryx will cache freely as long as total memory usage stays below the limit, but switch to conserving/freeing RAM if it's above the limit. Also the following line led me to believe that memory-limit would not help my cause: The limit is not absolute.
