When you run the Pi demo, what output do you get on the screen 
(or wherever you redirect stdout)?

In particular, near the top of the output, do you get a line that looks
like:

16/09/26 17:43:10 INFO client.RMProxy: Connecting to ResourceManager at ....

and if you do, is the hostname/ip_address in the line the same one that
you're connecting
to with your browser?
