Acegi Security would definitely be a topic of interest. I would suggest maybe even a chapter on security alone considering the variety of ways to enforce authorization. Or maybe that is out of the scope of the book and Acegi should just be one of the topic in this Spring section...

I do like the idea of telling the story of why Matt moved to Spring. I think it not only emphasizes how nice Spring is to work with, but it is also a good example sound decision making by Matt and the AppFuse community. The fact that I can trust the development choices of the AppFuse committers is a huge reason to love this project. ;)

Perhaps a quick note on Spring/Hibernate or Spring/Ibatis integration? Would be usefull in conjunction with Transactions in Spring. The other area of pain is ACEGI - not sure it really falls under Spring though? Mike.

    Hi:

I am writing a book for SourceBeat called AppFuse Primer. For the
    chapter
on Spring I want to write about what you are most interested in
    learning.
E.g. there are already books on Spring and how to use it. I want
    to teach
you about things within AppFuse that may be complicated or would be of
    interest.

Here's a very rough outline of topics for Spring with AppFuse.

    - Spring the IOC Container and Dependency Injection
    - Why AppFuse uses Spring
    - All the different Spring Bean specifications (AppFuse ones)
    - Explain AOP use of Spring in AppFuse
    - Spring MVC

    What else? Please comment.

    Thanks
