I just tried the following with the latest code from the 1.9.x branch:
created new project, installed JSF
cd extras/appgen
ant test
This does what you're trying to do - all tests pass.
It's possible this issue happens because your project is located in a
directory with spaces in it. I'd recommend you put it in
c:\source\appfuse and try again.
