This is a known issue with JSF and the corejsf-validator.
http://issues.appfuse.org/browse/APF-705 I'd like to either 1) figure out a solution or 2) replace the client-side validation with another framework. I believe the JSF 1.2 version of MyFaces will include a new client-side validation mechanism. If you figure out the solution, please let us know.
