It didn't require to change anything to the constant above. I expected the same behaviour in AppFuse :-(
That tutorial doesn't seem to have any constants in its struts.xml, so maybe the behavior is caused by some other constants in AppFuse? If you'd like to see slashes supported by default - I don't see a problem with that.
