I just went through the entire process for basic-jsf from start to finish and didn't have any problems.
Using Java 5, Tomcat 5.5 and Eclipse 3.2 Was able to import the project to eclipse, make changes and see them with a mvn jetty:run-war. I do miss the old ant window in eclipse though. Nice job Matt!
