Dear René, I think it's just to distinguish the "sample values" that You are using for testing, from the original ones, which You will use in final application. If You have a look inside the "default-data.xml" (which will be used during the deploy of Your application to server), You will notice that all the IDs are positive. It's just my thought, though ;-)
