Inconceivable!  Ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates?...Morons.   
We should include the filter and disable it.  We already do that with OSIV.

I have semi-mixed feelings about including gzip filter but having it disabled 
by default.  It has proven to make finding certain bugs harder, so I would say 
it should be disabled.  However, if you were going to use it on a production 
server it would be best to have all the problems caused by the filter show up 
during development, so I think it should be turned on during development in 
this case.  On the other hand, not all production environments need to have the 
gzip filter (e.g. many intranet applications), so there is no need to deal with 
the aggravation.
