Since no-one suggested a fix or pointed me to a problem in the source code (even though I have uploaded the full project here: http://www.speedshare.org/download.php?id=4D5FF7FC11 ), it seems I am on my own here (which is ok too).
In general, how would I debug such hibernate related problems? I need to understand why the modification of one field in my form leads to an update of another field. This happens only if both fields have the same value and the user attempts to set one field to a different value - in this case both fields are set to the new value which is not what I want.
