Alright, slowly on I am beginning to see some light. I run with jetty now, using the command line and netbeans as a fancy text editor :) I see jetty setting the scanner to 3 seconds. I have not tested jsp or classes yet, but editing the properties file or the web.xml file does not seem to get propagated automatically.
