Um, while I'm willing to try anything to get the times down again. This seems like an odd fix; which I'll be trying soon ;)

Hi Michael,

I had the same problem with Archiva 1.3 when using a group.

I had a group named archivagroup
This group refers to 4 archiva repos
- internal : managed by archiva
- external : managed by archiva
- snapshots : managed by archiva
- opensource : proxy to other repos

When downloading from my favorite browser with URL such as :
http://archiva.domain/archiva/repository/snapshots/ it works perfectly

When downloading the same artifact with URL :
http://archiva.domain/archiva/repository/archivagroup/ it takes many minutes
and it fails

In order to correct it, I simply delete the archivagroup Group and create it
again and now it works perfectly.

Perhaps it could work for you also ?

Take care,
David.

Thanks. I'll go ahead and do that.

Any other pointers?

Maybe one of the remote repositories being proxied went down so the

You can switch on the debug logs too in ../WEB-INF/classes/log4j.xml
to help
better track down the cause.

All,

Within the past few weeks the performance of my Archiva 1.1.4
installation
has tanked. Where it use to take a couple seconds to download a
small jar it
now takes twenty seconds or more for the same jar file or even worse
a pom
file.

I haven't changed the configuration in some time, so the decrease in
performance can't be tracked back to a configuration change. I have
site
time outs set, as well as pretty strict white/black lists. I'm
pretty
stumped as to where Archiva is spending it's time.

The system Archiva is running on has about 500Mb free memory as well
as
lots of swap and disk space.

What's the best way to try to debug performance on Archiva?
