Yes, I think you missed the different version :) I'm not sure this bug exists in 1.4.x - I had a look into 1.3.5 source only. I now took a look into the current trunk and noticed that the DefaultPathParser has been completely rewritten and also the ArtifactExtensionMapping now misses all these hard mappings from types to extensions (the troubling one was javadoc was a type not only a classifier and was resolved to .jar when toFile(ArtifactReference) was used). As these two classes actually caused the issue, it might very well be, that the issue will be fixed with 1.4.x Greetings -Sascha-
