I was able to solve this issue by downgrading to archiva 1.3.8, what a shame. Networkproxy seems to be flawed in 2.0.1, and I don't have access to open a JIRA.

For some reason, when clicking on the question mark icon in the 'Proxy Connector Settings' column shows 'Network Proxy: None', even though it is set correctly and when checking the archiva.xml file under /conf it is listed there properly. 3) Repositories -- > Remote Repositories Management, on remote check there's an icon that circles and does not resolve into a check mark. Am I doing something wrong, and how can I debug this and identify the root cause. Maybe a 'test proxy' button is required after setting up a proxy in archiva.
