The attached announcement describes the first alpha release of a UML editor plugin for Eclipse which is based on the ArgoUML core. There's still more work to be done on the integration, but the plugin is usable as it stands today, so it's worth checking out.
This is a one time announcement, so please subscribe to the announce or users lists on the project page listed below. Also, if there are any ArgoUML users attending EclipseWorld this week who would like to say hi send me an email and we can arrange to meet. I won't be there for the whole conference, but I'll probably stop by for portions of a day or two (and will definitely be at the Eclipse tailgate party Wednesday night). It includes a lot of cool stuff and provides all the functionality of ArgoUML 0.22 as an Eclipse plugin. It provides custom Eclipse views, perspectives, wizards using both native SWT widgets as well as the SWT/AWT bridge. There's still additional work planned such as better integration with Eclipse for code generation and reverse engineering, but functionality that's available now should provide a useful beginning. Please try it out and send your feedback. We're especially interested in hearing what types of additional features or integration points you'd like to see. You can check out the project from its home page: http://argoeclipse.tigris.org. If you received this announcement on one of the ArgoUML lists, please subscribe to the appropriate ArgoEclipse list to continue receiving updates.
