Hi Lionel, You've got two options: 1. argo2ecore - Will take a UML 1.4 XMI file from ArgoUML and convert it to an ecore file. It's an Eclipse plugin which is independent of ArgoUML. This has been around for years and I think just supports the basics for converting classes and associations. 2. ArgoUML eUML Model subsystem - This is a native UML 2.x Model subystem implementation for ArgoUML built on top of Eclipse's UML2 plugin (which is, in turn, layered on EMF). This is functional, but not complete currently. It was just done this summer by one of our Google Summer of Code students (Bogdan, cc'd above). As far as I know the argouml-emf project is just a placeholder for something Linus has planned for the future. The argo2ecore plugin does need to be installed separately in your Eclipse IDE. It should then also be available from the Eclipse Ant runner (which is how, for example, they do the Eclipse headless builds). The eUML Model subsystem will be usuable both in standalone ArgoUML and in ArgoEclipse fully integrated with the rest of the Eclipse IDE. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. Followups to the users list please, so that everyone can benefit (and help answer). Tom

Hello Lionel! I am not the best person to answer this. Try mailing Tom Morris or Bogdan instead. Good luck! /Linus 2007/8/23, Lionel van den Berg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: Hi Linus, I've just discovered your argouml-emf project and it looks like it will be great for my needs. However, I have no idea how to convert the xmi generated by Argo. Looking at the instructions at http://argo2ecore.sourceforge.net/ it looks simple, but I don't have the menu option to do the conversion. Do I need to install a plugin? Also, can this be done outside the eclipse IDE with ant? Thanks Lionel.
