Absolutely.
If you want it, I need to refactor a little my work for a better integration.
I've been busy working on some stuff that will enable container independent deployment descriptors (what I want to be able to do is to provide directives to say which containment context you want to run a component within). This involves putting in place an SPI between assembly and meta Most of that is in-place and I'm currently working on refacting the assembly SPI and impl to leverage this. The main big benefit that will come out of this is executable deployment descriptors (i.e. define or update a deployment scenario in a JMX client and send it to a kernel for execution).
Some of this will impact what your proposing so I'll keep you up-to-date.
