Steve,
Got the latest and executed maven on it, and it compiled (using JDK 1.4.2, somehow there are "issues" with 1.3.X).
Any chance you could post the details of the 1.3 failure ? The intention is that Merlin supports 1.3 but I'm running on 1.4 on my local machine - I guess I've introduced something that I should not - any details would be appreciated.
Thanks. However, got the following:
test:test:
[junit] Running org.apache.avalon.merlin.RepositoryTestCase
[junit] Tests run: 1, Failures: 0, Errors: 1, Time elapsed: 1.072 sec
[junit] [ERROR] TEST org.apache.avalon.merlin.RepositoryTestCase FAILED
You wouldn't happen to be behind a proxy by any chance? Proxy support is in place within the repository implmentation but the test case needs to be updated to check for related maven properties.
The problem your expiencing is probably to do with the fact that I've just completed updates to the composition package to provide support for container/client classloader seperation and I'm dragging in some test classes over the wire which could be causing you a problem or two. This will be updated to use local jar files but I need to sort out some javen/jelly stuff to make it work properly.
Steve.

Steve,
Removing composition directory, did the trick. Thanks.
Mansor:
Have just updated CVS and executed a clean build and applied the acid test - lauching james and sending this message. Just for reference - the trick concerning deletion of the composition directory is no-longer available.
Cheers, Steve.
