I use this component extensively as a sort of "octupus". I extended the active monitor to create an FtpMonitor. This allows me to grab remote system output files (mostly from mainframe apps) as they are created, and through a timed event.
I also saw what was either the start of a refactor, or the vestiges of one. However, in it's current state I found it to be quite useable and suitable. It works like a champ!
Someday, I'll get around to merging the Ftp resource back to the cvs head and submit it. I would like to add sftp as well.
The refactoring was essentially just to allow the use of the Active/Passive Monitor without Avalon. That is the version in the impl package.
The version in the main package is the familiar version of active/passive monitor that we are all familiar with, and it really couldn't change because of bacwards compatibility reasons.
Hi.
I'm looking at excalibur-monitor 1.0.2 and noticed that there's 2 passive and active monitors ...in definition package and implementation, and ones extend the others. Usable ones aren't the ones in implementation package. It looks to me that some restructuring has taken place here, but has never ended up ?!
