On the 12 of August 2003 a proposal for a roadmap for the Merlin product was issued. Since that time a number of people have started using the Merlin product with favourable results. The purpose of this vote is to endorce the roadmap as documeted in the 12-AUG post:

With the objective of the publication of the following packages:
- merlin-kernel 3.0 beta - avalon-repository 1.0 beta - avalon-meta 1.0 beta - avalon-activation 1.0 beta - avalon-composition 1.0 beta - avalon-extension 1.0 final
As a prerequisite to an initial release, the vote includes endorcement of releases and publication of the following prerequisite packages:
- avalon-framework 4.1.5 - excalibur-i18n 1.1 - excalibur-configuration 1.1
This vote is open to all list subscribers. Committer votes count in terms of quorum establishment (a minimum of three positive votes) with a majority vote conclusion restricted to committers. Non-comitters are encoraged to express support or opposition for the roadmap that is proposed here. Should the vote be succesfull, subsequent votes by the PMC will be required for the publication of the framework, i18n, configuration and extension package updates, together with current and future Merlin publications related to the Merlin suite (covering the topics addressed in the roadmap document).
