Honestly, I sorting out some problem swith the NT task - everything else is working nicely for me here. For the moment all I can suggest is that you do a clean sweep - i.e make sure that you have a clean buiold of avalon/meta, avalon/util, avalon/repository, and avalon/merlin. If that doesn't solve things - then wait 24-48 hours and I'll have a release candidate out and we dig from that reference point.
Sorry I can't be more specific - but the error you generating smells of a inconsitent build.
