I hit the Kernel documentation on merlin and found this node:
<kernel> <parameters> <!-- Declaration that deployment should allow for 2500ms for any component or container to start-up, before interrupting or failing. --> <parameter name="deployment-timeout" value="500" /> </parameters> </kernel>
which will allow me to set that.

I still need to figure out why maven-merlin plugin doesn't respond to Ctl-C
My guess is that you have switched from 3.2.X to 3.3 (CVS) but for some reason your merlin plugin does not appear to be updated. If you are running from CVS then the Merlin Plugin version should be 3.3-SNAPSHOT.
