I wanted to learn Avalon Merlin and my ultimate goal is to run fulcrum components in Merlin.
Following lots of emails from beginners during the last couple of days I was able to learn a little bit of Merlin.
The service interfaces found in the fulcrum source code that I checked out from CVS still have
String ROLE = InterfaceName.class.getName();
as theri first line.
But this has changed in Merlin and now only those meta tags are used I think.
So will those fulcrum components be compatible with Merlin. The Fulcrum webpage mentions that "All components are compatible if Avalon's ECM container. "
But ECM is deprecated.
And I read in an email on this list that fulcrum components now run in Merlin. So does having
"String ROLE = InterfaceName.class.getName();" doesn't matter.
And how are roles resolved now in Merlin ?
