I think the quickest way to deal with this is if we put in place a logging system factory declaration in the kernel within which we declare the classname of the factory. This would enable you to map in an alternative implementation.

I wnated to see if there is a chance to get the Phoenix Logger into Merlin, maybe just as a component so our other components can use it via dependencies to start with.
