Hello. I've been playing around with Merlin 3.2.5 and I'm having issues with running as an NT service. After talking with Stephen, I put together a quick FAQ at: http://wiki.apache.org/avalon/AvalonFAQ/Merlin
But I'm _still_ having issues. Basically, when I start up merlin as a service, nothing happens. No logs, no services, nothing. So it's dying somewhere before merlin can even start up and create a log file. I'm wondering how others have merlin setup, especially if you're running it as an NT service or Unix daemon. Here's some of my setup: MERLIN_HOME = C:\root\home\farra\dev\tools\servers\merlin MERLIN_DAEMON = C:\root\home\farra\dev\tools\servers\merlin AVALON_HOME = C:\root\home\farra\dev\tools\servers\merlin MERLIN_HOME/merlin.properties: merlin.kernel=file:///${merlin.home}/config/kernel.xml merlin.override=file:///${merlin.home}/home/config.xml merlin.deployment=file:///${merlin.home}/home/block.xml merlin.info=true MERLIN_HOME/config/kernel.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <kernel> <logging target="kernel" priority="INFO" name="kernel"> <category name="/logger" priority="WARN"/> <target name="kernel"> <file location="merlin.log" /> </target> </logging> <repository> <hosts> <host path="http://dpml.net/"/> <host path="http://ibiblio.org/maven/"/ </hosts> </repository> </kernel> Merlin file structure (running cygwin): $ pwd ; ls -l /home/farra/dev/tools/servers/merlin total 82 -rw-r--r-- 1 farra mkgroup_ 3306 Jan 12 02:26 INSTALL.TXT -rw-r--r-- 1 farra mkgroup_ 2714 Jan 12 02:26 LICENSE.txt -rw-r--r-- 1 farra mkgroup_ 804 Jan 12 02:26 README.TXT drwxr-xr-x+ 4 farra mkgroup_ 4096 Jan 22 10:03 bin drwxr-xr-x+ 2 farra mkgroup_ 4096 Jan 23 10:47 config drwxr-xr-x+ 3 farra mkgroup_ 4096 Jan 23 11:20 home drwxr-xr-x+ 2 farra mkgroup_ 0 Jan 23 10:57 logs -rwxr-xr-x 1 farra mkgroup_ 182 Jan 23 10:53 merlin.properties drwxr-xr-x+ 30 farra mkgroup_ 8192 Jan 22 13:21 repository drwxr-xr-x+ 22 farra mkgroup_ 4096 Jan 12 02:26 system J.
