Hi, I is there a container hook to be able to lookup component parameters from a LDAP server using JNDI instead of block.xml or file based lookups ?
Our operations man likes to be able to use the nice GUI with a centeralized LDAP server as a way of managing all application properties that he is maintaining and deploying. I was thinking about implementing the lookup scheme using another component that queries the LDAP server for other components to use. This seems very ugly to me as every component in the land then would be needing this jndi component. I don't know much about lifecycle extensions yet, but before I fully dig into that, I want to get your oponions on this. Has anyone dealt with this or what suggestions do you offer, for above scenario where I'd like a LDAP server as the central repository of configuration for all of my merlin components and applications that I deploy ? p.s.
