Do we have a concrete working example in Merlin where we are getting hold of
components thru the Kernel interface? I really need something like that esp
in a webapp.
There are several fully-functional examples of this in the merlin cvs. A skeleton servlet containing a kernel is under the merlin/kernel/servlet subproject. There is also a the content under the merlin/facilities/http project which is an example of a facility that changes merlin into a web-server and enabled components to handle incoming http service requests directly (but keep in mind that its very initial but it will give you some ideas about what is possible).
