HI, I'm thinking about what the best way would be to install/upgrade a Merlin based application that has only access to a secure network.
Right now, we are simply starting the application, producing a windows installer (innosetup) that copies the repository, merlin bins, system under a folder and sets the merlin.repo, kernel.xml repos etc. accordingly. That seems like a waste of time when there are tools like JavaWebstart, the Repository components etc., but we have no experience in how to best apply the tools. E.g. should you download just new block.xml/property files via webstart, and let the repository do the rest or is it better to push over everything needed via webstart, or should we listen too the rumours against Webstart and go on with the classical installer solution? Has anyone done something like that?
