<snip> I'm guessing that the log4j plugin is assuming that a log4j configuration is supplied. In the case of the logkit logging solution the plugin automatically kicks over to a console logger - but I'm not sure what the policy is concerning the log4j implementation. I would try setting the logging configuration parameter with something sensible for log4j and see where that leads you.
