Bob, I am able to startup "full screen". Click at the middle of the vertical bar dividing the 1/3 and 2/3 areas and the left 1/3 will disappear, and the bar will move to the left edge of your screen. Click on the same bar to re-open when needed. If I recall correctly, I had to do it a few times before it "stuck" and became default, but now each time Beonex starts and opens my Yahoo home page, it opens in full screen.
