Bernhard Schuppe asked, how do move Mail files from one profile to
another one in W2K.
I never did this, but it should be possible my manually moving the files
around. Note that this is a hack and not at all supported. You can
*easily* screw everything up. Make a backup first.
1. Find your old profile. This is a directory, usually somewhere
under the Windows folder, currently under a subdirectory "Mozilla"
(to be changed to "Beonex" or similar later). It contains a file
calles "prefs.js".
2. Open prefs.js with a text editor.
3. Look for a line with mail.server.[something].directory. It
contains the path to your Mail files.
4. Copy the dir name.
5. In your new profile, create the account as normal, in Beonex Comm..
6. Open prefs.js of your new profile.
7. Find the directory line again (it shows the new Mail files dir),
and either
1. Change the path to the copied value
2. Save prefs.js
3. (Note: Do do not know what happens, if you still use both
profiles. *Certainly*, things will screw up, if you use both
profiles at the same time (with two instances of a Mozilla
derivate).)
or
1. Delete all content of the new Mail files dir
2. Copy the content of the old mail files dir to the new Mail
files dir
3. (Note: this way is much more secure.)
Now start the new profile and check, if everything is OK.
