Absolutely right! I missed the executorService() call inside DSL. Of course the leverage of the transaction inside the DSL should happen *after* the executorService() call so that it gets attached into the thread managed by the MyThreadPoolExecutor.
The example Christian has already showed made this happen using the "direct:sub" endpoint as a bridge.
