Thank you both for your replies. I was hoping to avoid setting up a keystore (at least for a short while), basically because this is a test environment which is running in AWS during office hours only. The environment is re-build each morning, so to use a keystore I need to script the process of creating the keystore, adding the certificate to the store etc.
However, I think your suggestions make sense and I will pursue that approach.
