What Geoff says is correct however if you specify the name-label _and_ the VLAN
and that named network already exists then it'll barf with an error saying that
you can't do Q-in-Q tagging. I ran into this once before when we created a
tagged network ahead of time; the alternative is to omit the tag from
CloudStack during the wizard and it will assume whatever VLAN tag is assigned
to the named network. This is only useful/relevant if you had already built
and defined networks before attaching CloudStack to them; if it's fresh what
Geoff suggests is best.

Hi Warren,

You do not (and should not) create any VLANs, CloudStack will create all the
VLANs for you.

Remember you cannot use Tagged VLANs for the Management Network with XenServer,
so you should set the appropriate Management VLAN at the Switch Port.

Subject: Xenserver VLAN setup for cloudstack

When preparing Xenserver for use with Cloudstack:

After you set up the IP addresses for the nics, and

enter the param-set name labels to match cloudstack,

should you also create the VLAN's by using the xe vlan-create

command and thus tie to the VLAN's to a specific network/pif uuids?
