I checked the code - the culprit seems to be a function called getVlanIdFromBridge() that doesn't take into account the type of networking that exists on the host. That particular code tries to list /sys/devices/virtual/net/<bridge name>/brif/ - which is no longer populated by openvswitch. And I just tested it with 4.2 - it does exactly the same.
