Hi, I'm try to do template from Centos 6.5.
Step: 1. Create a VM. 2. Install VM using ISO. 3. Reboot VM after installation finish. 4. Login VM. Can ping other VM in ACS host. 5. Shutdown VM. 6. Create template A1 from ROOT disk of VM. Waiting until template available. 7. Create another VM using new template A1. Set hostname test-1. 8. Access VM (from template A1). Notice the hostname set early from ISO. Not the new hostname. Before proceed to create new template, there are no hostname in /etc/hosts. Just localhost.localdomain. I have following the URL to create template. -----Original Message----- From: Glenn Wagner [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, July 4, 2016 4:42 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: Instnace Hostname issue Hi, What OS are you using? When your create the template from the ISO are you clearing the hostname and udev rules before make a template from the VM also clear the /etc/hosts file so there is only localhost addresses . You can have a look at the following link http://docs.cloudstack.apache.org/projects/cloudstack-administration/en/4.8/templates.html Thanks Glenn [email protected] www.shapeblue.com 2nd Floor, Oudehuis Centre, 122 Main Rd, Somerset West, Cape Town 7130South Africa @shapeblue -----Original Message----- From: Mohd Zainal Abidin Rabani [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, 01 July 2016 9:57 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Instnace Hostname issue Hi, When creating instance, let's say I put test-vm.local. I create instance using template that I make from iso installation. After vm running, when I goes into OS it did not set hostname to test-vm.local. What do I need to fix to settle this issue? Thanks.
