Hi Jayanth,

The major part is the ISO uploads and template registration.

When RFC 1918 IP range uses with the nfs server as well, cloudstack unable to
create the system vm’s.
I also use wireguard to make communication between MS and KVM but it is also
not working.
I simple words with RFC 1918 IP range uses then I unable to launch a instance
because of no ISO and templates are present in cloudstack with ready status.

I need guide in the network part of cloudstack.

Thanks and Regards,
Bharat Saini

Hello Bharat,
Please let me know if your question is only on ISO uploads and template
registrations.

Template registration of an external QCOW2 or any compatible ones need only
SNAT to work towards the destination (where your QCOW2s are hosted). Please
note that secondary storage VM is responsible for this, and specifically the
"Public IP address" interface assigned and it doesn't matter if it is actual
Public address or as part of RFC 1918. As long as you've got reachability to
the external HTTP server where QCOW2 or similar are hosted, this will just work.

I don't think DNAT works for the system VMs as the URLs during template uploads
only point to "Public IP address" assigned to Secondary Storage VM. Please
check this out on the Cloudstack Web UI. If this address is part of RFC 1918,
then your client will attempt to make a connection to this only, and not the
DNAT address which you'd have externally configured. IIUC, there is no option
to set the DNAT address on Cloudstack.

Please also note the same for template or ISO copies across zones. The ACLs on
Apache htaccess file will be put as the "Public IP Address" on the secondary
storage VMs, however this can be manually edited to include the SNAT IP of your
secondary storage VM.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Jayanth

Hi Jithin,

I can use the RFC 1918 IP range behind NAT but it has to be configured in the
system itself.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Bharat,

Can’t you use an RFC 1918 IP range behind NAT for cloudstack public traffic?

Hi Jithin,

That is the major requirement as I am lacking to have the IP range. So that’s
why I consider the create virtual network and that network NATing with the one
interface and one IP.

Hi Bharat,

For uploading template ISO using the register URL method you just need to make
sure that the URL is accessible from the public IP range provided in the zone.

Hi Jithin and Suresh,

I appreciate you quick response. But Jithin I wondered about the networking
part of cloudstack in which after deployment I will face error of iso and
template uploading and Suresh in the document you refered I think the mbx
required /16 natted network but I have only /24 natted!.
I didn’t want to stuck in network part as I doing the deployment 3rd time but
didn’t get success in it.

Thanks and Regards,
Bharat Saini

Subject: Cloudstack Deployment
Hi All,

I wanted to deploy the cloudstack, kvm (hypervisor), mysql and nfs server on a
single system.
System config –
RAM – 64GB
HDD – 1 TB
CPU – 16 Core i9 11th gen

Note – I also wanted a virtual network in the system which will communicate
with my network through NAT as I am having on single NIC and don’t have the IP
range to give in zone.
I need document or any video reference by which I can deploy cloudstack on a
single server and able to provision the VM as the network played most important
role in cloudstack.

Thanks and Regards,
Bharat Saini
