Hello,

I am configuring some new compute offerings and I am exploring passing some
settings to the hypervisor.

Some of these include the number of cores per socket, CPU weight, etc. But it’s
not seeming to work as I would expect. For example, the CPUs I have are 24-core
CPUs. I would like to set a max core per socket to 24. This way, it matches the
underlying hardware. But when trying to set this on an offering that has 16
vCPUs, I would think it would just assign one socket to the VM since it is less
than the max per socket setting. But instead, it did 8 sockets and 2 core per
socket. I also noticed that the CPU weight in Cloudstack is set to 86 versus
the default 256.

Where can I find a list of these parameters and the correct way to include them
in the offering?

Thank you for all the help.

Marty
