Exactly, IT silos lacking well-educated influencers/mainstream are
doomed to repeat these glitches ... just consider the Python ecosystem
some years after Perl already recovered from the very underlying
issue: https://bugs.python.org/issue13703#msg151691
(and regarding this "mainstream", keep in mind that scripting
languages like these have substantially lower barriers to entry,
C inherently expects some respect and knowledge).

Sigh.
